Meri Raffetto

With more than 9 years experience in nutrition counseling, Meri Raffetto has helped people make positive lifestyle changes to improve their health. Since a child, Meri has always been interested in...well food. From baking bread with her grandmother to perfecting the ever-coveted family spaghetti sauce recipe, food and the culture of food have always been an important aspect of her life.

Meri attended Washington State University where she completed a Bachelor of Science in both Nutrition and Psychology. As much as she enjoyed her studies in Psychology, she just couldn't let go of her never-ending curiosity of food and nutrition so she continued her education to become a Registered Dietitian. Since that time she has been involved with nutrition research studies and has worked in many specialized areas of nutrition such as weight management, heart disease, alcohol recovery, and eating disorders. She provided nutrition counseling for professional athletes training at Titan Sports Performance Center in Santa Barbara, CA and has developed nutrition programs and education manuals for hospitals, private businesses, and corporate wellness.

Meri publishes a monthly newsletter for RealLivingNutrition.com and has contributed articles to Santa Barbara Fitness Magazine and Santa Barbara News Press' Woman Magazine. She has been interviewed by multiple radio shows and featured in Healthy Living Magazine and the Chicago Tribune.

In 2003, Meri developed Real Living Nutrition Services to help empower people to learn how to manage their weight by making practical, real-life changes. She has developed the Balance Program, an online weight management program based on creating sustainable lifestyle changes.

Meri specializes in weight management and heart disease. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association and past president of the California Coastal Tri-County Dietetic Association.
